Detroit Electric is a joint venture company formed between a 13-year-old US electric car company ZAP (OTCBB: ZAAP) and one of China's leading vehicle manufacturers China Youngman Automotive Group. The Company has revived the vintage electric car brand Detroit Electric and its business scope covers manufacturing, marketing, distribution and sales of pure electric vehicles including buses, coaches and passenger cars. Detroit Electric was an American icon in the early part of the 1900s. The brand represented the most popular electric car in history and the longest running electric car company, which operated between 1907 and 1939 by the Anderson Electric Car Company in Detroit Michigan.
