While there is such a buzz around vehicles using alternative energy, the thought did cross my mind as to how viable these vehicles are in the long run. I was reassured to read this article by a hybrid owner of 5 years who had never regretted his choice in the years that he had owned and used the vehicle.

I've never lacked for power, even in the hilly Bay Area (it's a tad loud when you have to gun it up a grade, but there's always plenty of juice). I love driving solo in the carpool lane at rush hour; California is one of several states that allows hybrid drivers to do that. Cliched as it may sound, I am like those folks in the ads who say they'd buy one again. “
